Happy to go to the Wonderful Kent Show

So it was the Kent show this past weekend.

It's amazing (see last years blog) I've been for the last 3 years and always have a good time.

It full of querky things. I especially like this fake lawn dino.

It has live stock show and give out awards.

In the below picture I think the middle one should win best cow butt, hmm I wonder if they would let me hold that award next year - will send an email lol.

Not only do they give awards out for live-stock but also for fruits. veg and Flowers.

We found the winner of the best onions - yay them!!

Growing and showing Veg isn't my thing but it really cool to see people and their passions and I hope the person who won, show their veg credentials with pride :) 

They also have loads of food and drink stations - I cover everything I drank that day in my Vlog so exciting about Vlogging, but so need to get better talking to the camera, might have to do a video of the out takes of me sounding more wooden than a forest lol.

But a cocktail van is always a good idea,

They also have an array of old motorbikes and Cars.

They even had a old chevvy pick up truck painted in a beautiful green colour. such an amazing car it's so pretty and I want one.

Couldn't you see me rocking around the streets in Kent driving this and having Dolly pumping out of the Stereo

Also got see to a bit of Royalty - I always move in the best of circles - The Duke of Kent was there to open the show and meet some of the people working there.

Amazing day out for a bit of family time too, as my son was very interested in the Tractors, boys and their toys! 

Well Kent is the garden of England so a lot of farming goes on so was great to see all the machinery that goes into it. Although I hate being stuck behind one on the little Kent Country Roads

The food places are amazing too, I had a fantastic Pad Thai. 

My Husband found a great food place The Duck Truck  the staff was lovely and the other half said it was amazing well it must have been as I didn't get a taste (Rude lol) I did try to explain that I needed to try so I could tell you lovely people about it but he wasn't having any of it.

There was lots of shop and vendors, although as I've had a few birthday this month and it was the week before payday so didn't buy much.

But I found these amazing guys who made flavoured Gin.

The foxdenton dudes had amazing customer chit chat and were telling me all about the process and let me try a few flavours and it a real family business with their Dad running the instagram account -@foxdentonestate 

I picked up some of their Award winning Rhubarb gin - It is so nice on it own but also with a some Fever tree tonic - Yum Yum and thrice yum.

I also picked up a small bottle of Pinkster to try as the big bottles were a bit to pricey. This little one alone cost me a fiver (£5).

but I gave it a go with some lovely Tonic and added in a few Raspberries to fruity it up.

Was refreshing and tasted nice and would defintiely have it again but I do think I like the Rhubarb Gin better. 

So that the Kent show over with for another year boo!! have to wait till July 2017 but now you all know how amazing it is you can make your plans and attend next year.

Hopefully by then I will get much better at Vlogging so can show you a lot more.

The only other thing of Note I did this week was go to PainsHill Park it a lovely park with Follys and nock and crannies to explore.

They even have a Vinyard

They have lovely array of birds and animals - but the Swans are a bit scary

So a great family day out the only problem is they toilets are only at both end of the park and its a big park so if you're stuck in the middle and need to wee its a hell of a long way to go.

Sorry but hey Cocktails

Hi guy firstly apologies that I haven't posted in a month just, been super busy with my new job and other things but now I'm back in full effect 

Firstly my friend bought me this awesome watering can.

I have decided to named Lady Florence of Anglesey. Yes I do like to give my inanimate objects crazy names

Oh and one night I came home this week to this from my Darling Husband as I was having a bad day.

So I went for a night out in town with my mum, to go and see Motown in the west end, ooh posh.

Firstly we did some window shopping and I got a fab pep talk from the Libery Window 

After that we went to a fab bar/restaurant called Portraits at the top of the National Portrait Gallery it's got a fab view and even better cocktails.

We had some martini straight up 

And a fab Earl grey tea margarita 

The staff was so nice they even gave a taster of another cocktail they do.

We then went on to Mr Foggs Gin Bar 

I loved the drink called 'Old Fashion Fanny' which in the UK has hilarious conitations 

But in the end when for a gin base cocktail which was okay although a bit too sweet for me. 

Loved the presentation in the old beer glass 

They even give you the bill in a quirky tin 

Then on a futher walk around we ended up going by a gallery which had the Bansky Dismaland art which as a Disney fan is cool 

We then stopped for dinner in Zizzi where I enjoyed a fab Pinot was going to photograph my food but after all the cocktails was so hungry.

We carried with a few drinks in the Theatre and by the way Motown is awesome.

But as it was a very late night needed a midnight snack on the way home. Why does drinking always make me want to eat bad food lol 

To end the week I treated myself to some fab hotel chocolate 

And as the sun came out for a bit a nice cold cobra beer 

But tomorrow it's the Kent County Shoe so I'm going to blog Vlog and hopefully periscope 

Vlogging the blogging

So I thought I shake it up a bit...

I've given Vlogging a go this week. We went to  Leeds Castle in Kent to watch the Medieval Jousting.

Although when I say vlog, it's more of a video but I am trying new things and will hopefully be making more of this with a bit more talking from now on (Also apologies for the sound a the start it was a super windy day). 

Will be back next week with a proper blog apologies been hectic what with a new job and not having internet at home don't ask but now I have super fast broadband so will be able to blog quite happily from now on.

Spiralling out of control

So I got to enjoy some UK sunshine 

And discovered a yummy Captain Morgan's White Rum Mojito in a can, very nice and so handy for the summer months.

Even got to enjoy a delicious chicken salad, just bought a store garden salad bowl, threw in some avocado and grilled some chicken and added some Caesar Salad dressing. 

Also as I put it all in the bowl there was a lot less washing up to do.

I decided I wanted some Aubergine (egg plant) now if you regualarly read my blog you know I have a love hate relationship with this veg. I love it, but I always suck when I cook it. But if I'm nothing but persistant so I decided to try again.

So I sliced it put it into a colander and covered it in salt (no very health for the heart) and left it there for about 15-20 minutes.

I then put it on a baking tray and added a pinch more salt and cooked for about 25 minutes.

While that was cooking I wanted to use my new Spiral Slicer - as it seem like such a good idea when I bought it to make vegetable noodles and to say hey world look how healthy I can be.

I got some carrots and some courgette (Zucchini) to make into wonderful spirals.

What a complete disaster and such a waste of time, now to be fair to the Spiral Slicer I have Dyspraxia so using something that requires the machine to turn one way, while I turn the veg the other, actually can be very difficult so not sure if it was a bad machine or just a bad me.

So we end up with just this

So I think I will from now on buy it pre-spiraled or find an electronic one.

The good new however is the Aubergine turned out great so at least I achieve something and the dinner wasn't a total disaster.

So to cheer myself up the next day I went to LEON and got my self a perfectly Spiraled Courgetti & Kale Salad which was fresh, taste and super nom.

A pox on my house - (but hey cocktails)

Firstly the good news look at what my Son did a Nursery the first thing he's made so proud as he following in him mum's foot steps today it chocolate rice krispy cakes tomorrow Cake boss lol..

Well that is before he got sick, so it was my birthday in the past week I turned 36 whoop whoop actually don't mind getting older my 30's so far have been fantastic and far less stressful and unsure like my 20's were. Also because I'm embarrassed me, especially my dyslexia and dyspraxia. I find I am finally comfortable in my own skin. 

So I had a big party plan with loads of treats and fun things I was going to cook and share with my chums but the morning of the start of the festivities my son awoke with the Chicken Pox (right on my birthday, a gift I really didn't want). The poor lad was not well and I needed to cancel on everyone, two days of plans right out the window and all my cooking idea too.

Slightly worried though as the presents I did get (and please remember that most of my friends gift didn't arrive as they were bring them to the party) I still managed to amass a load of drink - Think I have an unfair reputation and yes I know my blogs are full of drinking and yes I'm going to be talking about drinking below. That's not the point and I think this characterization is wholly unfounded :P 

So on my birthday it was just My husband as me and the little one spent most of the day in bed the only highlight was Hotel Chocolat and Champagne 

Oh and I did get a cake a super cute Pug cake so cute from Asda - but between twopeople  a 16 person cake is just too much lol.

There were some highlights I manged to get back to the Artesain Bar at the Langham Hotel in London and have another one of their cocktails that's 2 now out of a list of around 20 and oh yes I will do the whole list but they are a bit pricey so will have to spread them out.

This time I had their utterly fabulous "How Not To Be Seen" it was Tots Amaz (Sorry was somewhere posh so it just came out) lol  - it was made of Martell Cordon Bleu, Caju, Sauvignon Blanc, Agave.

Goes down very well and was just as nice as the last cocktail I had there "Suspended in Time" but it was less dramatic, think next time I need one of their more showy cocktails.


Oh and I was taken by a colleague at work to Wahaca as it was only a few of us didn't want to spend it taking loads of food picks but I did take a photo of the Passion Fruit Mojito we had.

That is one smooth and refreshing cocktail, it tastes just like a fab fruit punch which I can see being dangerous as they go down far to easily but as I was only on lunch I only had one. (But will go back when I can and have more than one lol).

The other good thing this week in between trying to get a 2 and a half year old not to scratch his poxs - Which is just so much fun and who said parenting was glamorous.

The sun has finally arrived in the UK it is hot and sunny and wonderful and great and fantastic (oh you can tell I so over the cold can't you :) )

so I managed to eat outside and look my food dishes even came with a hidden Mickey.

Oh and you have to have cocktails in the sun it a rule (That I've just made up) Well I did have to use all the champagne I was gifted so, some Buck's Fizz (Mamosa) went down really well with a mini BBQ.

We just had a few nibbles some steak, plain for Hubby and then some chilli seasoned stake hot sauce and spicy seasoning for me.

so nice to eat alfresco and I really do think food is improved by your surrounding so eating some nice steak and corn in the sun taste far better than if you where eating it inside in the cold and with it raining outside.

Also with the left over steak in the evening I fried it with some mushroom and parsley to add to a salad.

I should have taken a picture of the salad but got distracted and then I was over half way through when I remembered and it look a mess. (bad food blogger, bad).

So hopefully next week the cursed Poxs should be lifted from our house (Sorry it's Shakespeare celebration over her in the UK so I'm challenging the Bard). And after all the trauma lately with one thing and other back to my old self (and maybe even a slight tan self if the weather holds).
